Description

The Franciscan Friary, opened in the 1950's, is set in beautiful scenic grounds overlooking Donegal Bay and attracts thousands of visitors each year. Of particular interest here, is the Donegal Historical Museum, which opened in 1954. There are many beautiful places around the Friary where one may find peace and tranquility. Walk the "Way of the Cross" a pathway through a plantation of some 12,000 trees and hundreds of rhododendron. At the top of the hill you will find a clearing with a spectacular view of Rossnowlagh Beach and most of the Donegal Bay area.
