Love & Marriage!
Kitty Kellys & summer time are echoes of Sinatra's classic "love
& marriage", they just go together like a horse and carriage !
officially declare the arrival of summer, kitty Kellys reopens it's doors this
Friday 30th May at 5.00pm and will remain open every evening for a la carte
dining until late September Tel 0749731925 for reservation.
Kitty's new menu this season marks a return to some of its old classics.
Back from the past are the smoked chicken salad with a melted Brie dressing
best served with a glass of chilled moulin caresse Sauvignon blanc. Another
vintage return to the menu is the 1/2 roast crispy duck, plum sauce, garlic
mash, slow roast vegetables with a cardamon & peach chutney, with a choice
of a chic Fleurrie or a glass of oak infused Chardonnay. Prime fish play a big
part of our menu this year; crispy tender baby Octopus & monktail is our
new signature dish, Hake with a rich crab hollandaise, John Dory with a sun
dried herb tomato butter and Byrnes of Killybegs smoked haddock poached in a
Donegal Blonde fish velouté all make for mouth watering temptations and are in
good company with an apple flavoured Chablis or an Italian Pinot Grigio. For
the vegetarian we have a beautiful dish of roasted peppers, courgettes &
sweet potato , poached in a white wine cheese sauce and served in crepes with a
tossed green salad & home cut chips. This dish can take a pear finished
Sauvignon or a local Donegal beer, brewed in Ballyshannon. Finally for the
steak lover we have a generous 10oz Sirloin, complete with our own cut triple
cooked chips, roasted banana shallots & a classic cafe de Paris butter
sauce. Nothing better to go with a steak of this class but a glass of Merlot or
our house Rioja.
Louise Rowan, Lorna Lee Curran & Sharon Mullen are back refreshed for
their 15th kitty season.
We have many new plans for this season including some after dinner irish
trad music in July & August as well as launching our day time menu in July.
Kitty Kelly's was selected as Ambassador Restaurant by Failte Ireland for the
Wild Atlantic Way
and was recently featured in a glowing piece in the UK Sunday Times. We have
received our Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor and Georgina Campbell
has again included us in her 2014 guide for best places to dine in Ireland.
So gather up the horse & hitch up the carriage n make your way to Kitty
Kellys for a gourmet treat this summer. We look forward to you dining with us.
